I’ve tried then to train myself in telling these question-riddled stories in as ‘accessible’ and ‘entertaining’ forms as possible, so that a wider set of individuals – wider both by age and culture – can access it, and be moved by it. The medium doesn’t matter.

The whole process took about a year and a half. Half the time was all preproduction. After that, it was a fairly monotonous but amazing experience of slowly turning the whole project into animation. I did about 3-4 seconds a day.

The story of Siberia draws from and is dedicated to the story of Laika, sent into space in the Sputnik II. The film follows its central character, Reena, trapped a seemingly familiar scenario of a woman who believes that as she sits in her house, alone, she is accompanied by the looming presence of a large rat.
